When is the 2010 brochure available ?
The 2011 brochure will be available online during the week commencing 18th October 2010. If you have stayed with us in either of the last two years or enquired about a holiday within the last twelve months you will automatically be mailed a brochure. It is also possible to download the 2010 tariff and booking form from the link on the accommodation page of this site . How far is Pentewan Sands from the beach?
Our site is quite literally on its own private beach with fine sand and clear blue sea. Our premium front row pitches are just a few feet from the beach.
How far away are the major offsite attractions ?
There are many attractions nearby. The fishing port of Mevagissey is two miles away. Other approximate distances are Lost Gardens of Heligan 2 miles, the ancient port of Charlestown 4 miles, the port of Fowey 12 miles and Lanhydrock House 12 miles away are some of the most popular day trips. The world famous Eden project is only 8 miles away. The regions main shopping centre of Truro is 18 miles away.
What public transport do you have nearby ?
There is a bus service that stops outside the site that links us to Mevagissey, Fowey, Charlestown and the mainline stations of Par and St Austell. You can fly to Newquay direct from London Stansted with Ryanair, London Gatwick , Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford and Bristol with Air South West , Manchester with Bmibaby and Edinburgh with FlyBE .
Do you allow dogs on site ?
With the exception of registered guide dogs No, but well behaved dogs are allowed at our sister site at Heligan Park.
How soon can I book for 2011 ?
We start processing postal bookings for 2011 Monday 1st November 2010.
We process postal bookings only on that day. Our phone lines will be closed on November 1st but will re open at 10am on Tuesday November 2nd.
Booking requests for 2011 may be posted to us anytime on or after Monday 25th October 2010 and must be on a 2011 booking form. Please clearly mark the envelope 2011 Booking.
We will place all bookings received between Monday 25th October and Saturday 30th October in a sack and deal with them at random as they come out of the sack. These bookings will NOT be dealt with in date order received but randomly on 1st November.
Those booking forms received containing credit and debit card details are given priority and when all of these have been processed we will then deal with booking requests that have cheques enclosed.
Online web bookings for 2011 will start at 7pm on the evening of Monday 1st November 2010
We start taking credit or debit card telephone bookings on Tuesday 2nd November. However if you are staying on site this season you can book a holiday home , but not a pitch, for next season by calling in to reception.Our lines are very busy that week and we strongly recommend that you use the online booking facility.
Demand is high for our most popular pitches and we recommend that you give us several alternative choices of pitch if you are booking for peak season. During the peak booking period from November 2010 to February 2011 we will not be taking provisional bookings.
Are your front row pitches available all year ?
No, we need to re seed these each year and let the grass grow. Although these pitches can be booked in advance they are only available from Whitsun weekend to mid September.
Do you sell caravans ?
Occasinally on renewal of our fleet we may have units for sale off park. Please call for details. Our caravans on park are only available to hire as holiday homes. We do sell luxury holday lodges at our Heligan park site.
What time can I occupy my van ?
Each Saturday morning we ask our guests to depart by 10.00 am. After guests have departed we want to clean each caravan to the highest standard and then have one of our supervisors check each van. These tasks are completed by 3 pm when caravans are ready for occupation.
What time can I occupy my pitch ?
Pitches must be vacated by 10.30 am and may be occupied from mid day at the start of your holiday.
What size are the pitches ?
Our pitches are generous in size and at 13 metres square average 170 square metres in size.
Are there any restrictions on site ?
In the interests of our family based site we do not take bookings from young adult parties. We do not allow dogs at Pentewan Sands and we do not allow electric generators on site.
What times of year is the site open ?
We open on 1st April 2010 and close on 31st October 2010. Our Heligan Park site opens on 10th January 2010 until Saturday 21st November 2010. The site will re open on 1st April 2010 and close on 31st October 2010.
Do you take bookings for rallies ?
Yes , each year a number of rallies return to us , our clubhouse and entertainment help to make it an ideal group venue.
Is the sea clean?
Our beach meets the highest quality standard from the MCS ( The Marine Conservation Society) and is recommended by them for bathing.
What is the power supply to the electric pitches?
The pitches run on a 240 volt / 16 amp power supply.
What is the security deposit of £ 50 ?
For holidays in our static caravans we charge on booking a £ 50 security deposit to cover any damage to the van. Unfortunately in the past we have had items such as fridges and even micowaves stolen from the van, carpets burnt or a weeks washing up left for us and the security deposit covers this type of unlikely eventuallity. The deposit is refunded once we have had the opportunity to inspect the unit and is returned to you by your original method of payment within seven days of the end of your stay.
